Its quiet 2.75CHP motor changes its speed quickly making it great for interval training. Motor output responds to every step, to ensure smooth surge free movement of the belt. Horizon high torque motors are not over revving or stressed to produce the quoted output figure. With Horizon you get a CHP - continuous horsepower rating, NOT a peak figure measured at an unsustainable high rpm. Reliability is the number one goal with the Horizon motors, which is why they make their own motors inhouse.
