You'll notice this bench doesn't decline - thats quite deliberate! If you want a really strong bench then its best to ensure the back rest is resting on the frame when in the flat position. That way you don't have to put your faith in an adjustment mechanism for super heavy flat press. Stability is also optimised as the pad sits on the frame for all the heavy lifts.

Having said that, this bench is no light weight when it comes to incline press either! 3mm thick tubing and heavy bushed pivots ensure there is no undesirable movement in the backrest while you're doing heavy inclines. Adjusts from flat through 5 positions to near on vertical 85 degree incline.
